Fathpore Sikri, near Agra, India. Capital city of Mughal Emperor Akbar from 1571 to 1585. It is a fine example of a Mughal walled city. The architecture is a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles. A legend regarding the Anoop Talao, or pool relates that the court musician, Tansen, used to light oil lamps around the pool with the sound of his voice.
