Piazza Navona
The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi and the Church of Sant'Agnese in Agone on Piazza Navona, Rome. The Fountain was designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Four human figures symbolize the 4 great rivers known at the time. The obelisk in the middle was brought to Rome by Emperor Domitian and originally was at the Temple of Isis. The Church of Sant'Agnese was built by Borromini (1657).
