Trajan's Column
Trajan's Column and the Church of Santa Nome di Maria viewed through the remains of the Basilica of Ulpia, Rome. Trajan's Column is a Triumphal Column commemorating Trajan's victory in the Dacian Wars. Completed in 113CE the 98 foot high free-standing column has a marble spiral bas relief from bottom to top. The Statue on the top is St Peter, added in 1587.
